Jackson County fire officials give update on woods fire
Jackson County fire officials are giving an update on the state of the woods fire that flared up Thursday.
Jackson County Emergency Management officials say between 125 to 150 acres of land have been burned in the Old Fort Bayou Road area of the county.
Smoke and minor hot spots are expected to linger in the area for the next few days as crews monitor conditions throughout the weekend.
Emergency management officials say the exact cause of the fire is still unknown.
Jackson County fire officials want to remind everyone to call local fire departments or law enforcement agency if you think a hot spot is flaring up again.
