East Biloxi infrastructure update: Lee Street paving to be complete by August

With the East Biloxi infrastructure project about 13 months away from its contracted end, Oscar Renda announced today that all streets east of Lee Street should be paved by the end of August.
Project Superintendent John Cowart also reported that Graham, Iroquois, and Thelma streets should be paved in the next month and drainage lines on Nichols Drive should be in place by the end of June.
By the end of summer, the new sewer system is expected to be in place for the entire 2.2 mile length of Division Street, where paving is already in place from Oak Street to Penny Street.
The $124 million infrastructure project, which is seeing 55 miles of roadways rebuild in East Biloxi north of the CSX Railway, has a contracted completion date of June 24, 2018.
