Academic Signing Day at D’Iberville High School
A huge pep rally took over D’Iberville High School for college bound seniors receiving academic scholarships.
Dozens of students ran out to a sea of applause as they signed over to the colleges they are attending this fall. Some of those universities include Southern Miss, Ole Miss, Alabama, Mississippi State and Millsaps College.
D’Iberville High School Principal Cheryl Broadus tells News 25 the students receiving academic scholarships have so much to be proud of and set a fantastic example for younger students. “We’ve invited one of our elementary schools to come and see and we’re going to welcome them as our future Warriors and we’ll continue that tradition next year with the rest of our elementary schools, inviting them in.”
Senior Sierra Alexander received an academic scholarship from MGCCC. She said, “It feels good to know that our school cares about our grades and what we’ve worked hard for in order to get into college. I’m very happy that I’m a part of it.”
This is the second year D’Iberville High hosted Academic Signing Day.
