One arrested on charges of elder abuse

Charges of elder abuse have landed one woman in the Jackson County Jail.

Tamela Hammond was arrested on charges of assault against an elderly person and exploitation of a vulnerable adult.

It happened in a Pascagoula facility that housed seven people who were patients.

Hammond was released on her initial charges then re-arrested after making contact with one of the patients.
