Picayune man indicted in wreck that killed one, injured another

A Picayune man has been indicted on charges stemming from a fatal wreck on Feb. 28, 2023.
The grand jury returned four counts of driving under the influence causing death or disfigurement and one count of manslaughter against 52-year-old Jason Cassagne.
According to the indictment, Cassagne was under the influence of Tetrahydrocannabinol and Alprazolam when he he hit another vehicle, killing 75-year-old Antoinette “Toni” Meyn Scully Ladner and critically injuring her husband, Freddie Ladner.
The indictment was filed July 25 and Cassagne turned himself in to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday.
No bond has been set and he has not yet been given a court date, according to the Hancock County jail docket.
