Running Through “The Pass”

This is Talan Lindmark, a senior at Pass Christian High School and avid runner. So much so that for his Eagle Scout project he started Running through the pass.

“I fell in love with running in seventh grade or eighth grade and I realized there’s a lot of people out there that also love running. They don’t know how to or they don’t know where to run.”

Running through the pass offers different mileage routes for different levels of runners. So even if you don’t like running Talan wants to get you started because he was once in your shoes.

“It’s a funny story. My eighth grade year I quit baseball because I hated the punishment of running. I had a couple of friends that ran and told me you should try this. So I joined cross country and fell in love with it ever since.”

Running Through the Pass is up and ready at War Memorial park but Talan has a lot more events planned on the horizon.

“In about a couple of months I want to hold an event. Later on I had the idea of making it a game for people. Setting course records for each of the races, each of the distances, each of the segments so it’s more of a challenge for other people. People that aren’t too fast that don’t want to worry about the challenges you just run them. But for people who want to be fast there’s a race segment where you can put your best times in and compete against others.”
