Senator Roger Wicker introduces legislation to designate Gold Star Children’s Day
Senator Roger Wicker and West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin introduced legislation that would designate August 1st as Gold Star Children’s Day.
The day would recognize the sacrifices the children of fallen service members go through.
Close to home in Mississippi, nearly 5,500 have made the ultimate sacrifice ranging from World War I to present day.
A total of 10,000 children have been affected in that time period.
