Mississippi delegates unanimously endorse Kamala Harris
The Mississippi Delegation to the 2024 Democratic National Convention met virtually on Monday and voted to unanimously endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 Democratic nomination for President of the United States.
Following the motion by US Congressman Bennie Thompson, during the virtual meeting, Central Mississippi Transportation Commissioner Willie Simmons and the entire Mississippi Delegation applauded the lifelong dedication to public service of President Joe Biden.
“His leadership has led to incredible progress, including passing the bipartisan infrastructure bill that has provided millions of dollars for our highways, bridges and multimedia transportation systems, lowering prescription drug prices, expanding access to affordable healthcare, passing the first gun safety law in 30 years, and enacting the most significant climate legislation in world history.”
The Mississippi Delegation joined President Biden and Commissioner Simmons in backing Vice President Kamala Harris as their choice for the Democratic nomination.
“As chairman of the Mississippi Democratic Party, it gives me great pleasure to endorse Kamala Harris who is a fellow alumni of Howard University. We will work diligently to ensure that she is the next president of the United States. The first woman and woman of color to serve us in the highest office in the land.” Said Chair Chiekh Taylor.
“Vice President Harris has my vote and support for the Democratic nomination for President. I know Kamala Harris, and let me tell you, the Republicans have no idea what they are about to face with her leading our ticket. I call on all Democrats to join President Biden in endorsing Vice President Harris for the Presidency. Now, let’s go win!” said National Committeewoman Jacqueline Amos.
“Mississippi is united in our support for Vice President Harris”, said National Committeeman Will Colom.
