Nine dogs graduate to become therapy dogs with Visiting Pet Teams of South Mississippi

Folks gathered Saturday for a graduation ceremony in Pass Christian, but it’s not your ordinary graduation ceremony.

That’s because these grads are all four-legged friends! Nine dogs and their handlers passed the test to become therapy dogs with the volunteer Pet Teams of South Mississippi.

They’ll now bring a lot of smiles and hugs to folks in local nursing homes, hospitals, treatment clinics, and college campuses and local libraries.

Along with nine new therapy teams, 11 more are re-registering for the program.

The organization is always looking for more volunteers to help with its mission.
