7/9 – Trey Tonnessen’s “Rain & T-Storms” Tuesday Morning Forecast

Meteorologist Trey Tonnessen

Deep tropical moisture is moving into the area from the west this morning with plenty of showers developing ahead of it. Dry air is working in behind this line slowly which will cause the moisture axis to lay along the coast by this evening. The main issue with this line and storms ahead of the line will be efficient rainfall of 2-3 inches per hour. These storms will be moving at a good pace today but there is the problem with training cells which could cause some higher rain tallies leading to some flooding issues in isolated locations. The environment is conducive for waterspouts and land spouts and this would be the next issue with these storms today.
