Next Generation Director Kelli Brent turns her church’s old van into an Ice Cream Truck for Community Outreach

A member of staff at Temple Baptist Church in Hattiesburg makes a big impact in her community with small acts of kindness!

News 25 Ansley Brent’s mom, Kelli Brent, is the Next Generation Director at her church which teaches and influences people of many ages. Ever since Brent came on the Temple staff, she had a dream of turning an old church van into an ice cream truck. This isn’t just any kind of ice cream truck; however, but it’s better.

Every single ice cream and sweet treated handed out of the truck is complete free.  Instead of a typical ice cream jingle to get the attention of others, the truck plays Christian music. She completed the project in hopes of it being an intentional outreach opportunity to tell people about the church and community events put on by the church. Brent is a firm believer that small acts of kindness can change lives, and this is just one of the many ways she makes a difference both in her church and community.

Brent’s ice cream truck is up and running, and it produces smiles every place it stops! May we all strive to be kinder every day!
