Catching up with Miss Black Gulf Coast
Miss Black Gulf Coast Natassia Ayodele joins us in the studio to tell us more about her reign and what she is doing in the community!
Ayodele represents the Mississippi Gulf Coast region in the Miss Black Mississippi USA Pageant. The pageant is open to women ages 13 to 45 and encourages contestants to serve their communities.
The program also allows each contestant to bring awareness to issues they are truly passionate about. Ayodele said her platform is to promote the ‘G.L.O.W. Youth Program’, which focuses on mental health awareness for youth in schools. The youth program was founded to help students deal with the stressors of school and everyday life.
Ayodele is a science teacher at West Harrison High School so teaching her students to cope effectively with the pressures of academics, state testing, work, managing money, school-sponsored clubs/actitivities, and forming healthy relationships is what her program is all about.
Ayodele will compete in the Miss Black Mississippi USA Pageant in August 31 – September 2 on the campus of Belhaven University in Jackson, MS.
Participation in this pageant is costly and sponsorships are needed to help fund Ayodele’s travel, pageant fees, wardrobe purchases, and fund community service projects across the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
