Scrapin the Coast kicking off at the Coast Coliseum

Scrapin the Coast kicks off today! The event is set to take place all weekend, kicking off at 2 this afternoon.

Cars are gathering at the Coast Coliseum to take part in car shows, stereo competitions, and so much more.

News 25 caught up with the Scrapin the Coast Founder Eric Kendrick to discuss the history of the event and what can be expected through the weekend. “We started the event; we’ve been doing events all our lives. We wanted to bring something to the Gulf Coast that meant something to our area. So, we started it 22 years ago and it’s been going on ever since. It’s been going on every year. The gates open at 2 PM to the public, you’ll be able to hear some sound competition going on. All the cars will be customized and set up here. Tomorrow we will be set up for hydraulics and a sound competition through the weekend.”
