Local restaurant raising funds for Hope Outdoors
Chik-N-Pig in Lucedale hosted a fundraiser on June 8th to help a local organization take anyone fishing and hunting.
The best part is these outdoor experiences are at no cost to participants!
The family-owned business held the fundraiser as a way to give back to the George County community. All proceeds went to the Hope Outdoors chapter located in Hurley.
Hope Outdoors gives anyone with special needs a chance to get outdoors and experience what they may not normally be able to. Hope Outdoors Director Allen Connert said, “”We’re just trying to help, do, and make things happen. All of this is to show the Christian love, show what we’re about. You know, 80% of all special needs do not go to church because it is too hard. We are taking church to them; we are showing them the Christian way.”
The first outdoor event is scheduled for August 31st!
