Moss Point mayoral candidate debate on Thursday
The two candidates involved in Moss Point’s primary runoff will go head-to-head on key issues during a debate this week.
Democrats Billy Knight Sr. and Mario King will do their best to secure the city’s support during a debate at Meridian Street Baptist Church Life Center. The winner of the runoff will challenge incumbent Billy Broomfield, Republican Independent John Mosely Jr. and Independents Wanda Williams and Timothy Dubose during the general election.
“I’ve been doing this work. I don’t have to learn. There’s always a lot to learn and I’m sure I can still learn a lot, but there’s a lot I already know about what is necessary to get our city back on track and I’m ready to do that,” said Knight.
King said, “I want people to know who I am because it’s going to take a lot of work, a lot of energy and a lot of time to rejuvenate our community and I want people to really know that I am the man with the plan.”
Anyone interested in attending the debate is encouraged to arrive to the church at 5:30 and the event will start at 6. Candidates in other races are invited as well.
