Former deputy charged with bringing contraband into jail

A former Harrison County corrections officer has been charged with bringing contraband into the jail.

Sheriff Matt Haley said 40-year-old Kristina Eaton of Moss Point was charged with introduction of contraband into a correctional facility. She turned herself in on a warrant was taken to Harrison County jail. Bond was set at $25,000.

In December 2023, investigators learned that Eaton was allegedly bringing contraband into the jail. Based on the evidence investigators obtained, Eaton was terminated.

On June 13, Eaton appeared in circuit court for a show-cause hearing, where investigators were able to prove probable cause and obtain a warrant for Eaton. That’s when she turned herself in.
