Ocean Springs baseball alum Garrett Crochet’s 116 strikeouts this season is tied for the Major League Baseball lead

There is currently a tie for the most strikeouts this season for Major League Baseball, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast may recognize this arm for the White Sox.

Ocean Springs alum Garrett Crochet was wheeling and dealing Thursday night against the Marineers. The former left-handed Greyhound pitcher took the mound in Seattle and was lights out for seven innings.

In those seven innings, he allowed only two hits, one earned run, two walks and a new career high of 13 strikeouts. Crochet now has 116 strikeouts this season, which ties the current MLB lead.

How incredible it is seeing local guys thrive in the show. Congratulations on the outstanding performance and season thus far, Garrett Crochet!
