The Mississippi Business Journal honored 28 winners of the CEO Awards of Mississippi, an MBJ-sponsored event now in its seventh year, during a breakfast held Thursday at the Old Capitol Inn in Jackson.
The CEO Awards recognize chief executives of Mississippi businesses throughout several size categories. Nominees were solicited from the general public through the MBJ website, and award winners were selected by a group of business and civic leaders.
Of the 28 CEOs honored, six are from South Mississippi.
“Recognizing for the seventh year the people who work to create jobs, build new facilities and contribute to our state’s economy has been very gratifying and rewarding,” said Tami Jones, MBJ publisher. “This group is truly committed to their companies and communities.”
2024 honorees from South Mississippi are:
- Roy Anderson, AnderCorp., Gulfport
- Matthew Butler, Waggoner Engineering, Gulfport
- Blaine LaFontaine, Hancock Port and Harbor Commission
- J. Davis Pace, Mississippi Enterprise for Technology, Stennis
- Andrew Swoger, Keesler Federal Credit Union, Biloxi
- Stuart E. Weidie, Blossman Gas, Ocean Springs
