Learning about aviation history at the Mississippi Aviation Heritage Museum

The Mississippi Aviation Heritage Museum’s Summer Camp for children continues.

The first camp there this summer runs through next Wednesday. The museum invites campers between ages of 11 to 18 to take part.

Kids are learning right now about robotics, aerodynamics, aviation engines, and aviation history.

As Camp Manager Katie Peterson tells us, campers leave the museum grounds for hands-on field trips as well. “On the last day of camp, they go on field trips to AVCRAD, to the airport and the control tower, and to Million Air. They get to experience all of that. So, I’ve seen over the last two years this camp, the kids are enjoying it. They are outsmarting the teachers; they are enjoying it.”

Camp Attendee Levi Sanders said, “The interesting things I’ve done these past days are the flight simulators, looking at all these pieces of history.”

There are still two more camps available to take part in. Registration can be found here.
