Juneteenth is celebrated annually on June 19th to commemorate the ending of slavery in the United States. Local organizations are celebrating the holiday with events across the Gulf Coast.

Friday, June 14: Juneteenth Freedom Ball- Club Thirty IV at 8:30 p.m.

Friday, June 14th: 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament at John Henry Beck Park in Biloxi at 5:30 p.m.

Friday, June 14th: Spades Tournament at John Henry Beck Park at 5:30 p.m.

Saturday, June 15th: Unity Walk/ Run at John Henry Beck Park. Registration begins at 7 a.m. Walk/ run begins at 8:30 a.m.

Saturday, June 15th: Juneteenth Celebration at Biloxi Town Green from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Saturday, June 15: 2nd Annual Juneteenth Family Fun Day at the corner of 14th Street and 23rd Avenue in Gulfport

Saturday, June 15th: Juneteenth in the Pass ‘If Not you, then Who’ Brunch at Randolph Center at 10 a.m.

Saturday, June 15th: Juneteenth in the Pass Community Celebration at War Memorial Park at 4 p.m.

Saturday, June 15th: CROSS Inc. Juneteenth Gala at Pelican Landing in Moss Point at 5:30 p.m.

Saturday, June 15th: CORE Freedom Festival at Gautier City Park at 3 p.m.

City of Gulfport-Juneteenth Freedom Week Celebration-June 19th through June 23rd, 2024.

  • June 19th – City Commencement from Mayor Billy Hewes at 10:19 a.m. at City Hall
  • June 19th -the Griots Society hosts 2nd annual Harry C. Ecumenical Service at 6:19 at Morning Star Baptist Church
  • June 20th– Cultural Education Day Camp for elementary students at Climb CDC
  • June 23rd– Mary Spinks-Thigpen Talent Showcase at 5:30 West Side Park in Gulfport
  • June 23rd– Freedom Festival at West Side Park in Gulfport at 3 p.m.

Wednesday, June 19th:  A Juneteenth Celebration with Keith Robinson at Ground Zero Blues Club in Biloxi at 5 p.m.

Saturday, June 22nd: Moss Point Juneteenth Celebrate Freedom at Sue Ellen Street Park at 11 a.m.
