Man wanted on fugitive from justice arrest warrant in custody
On June 7, 2024, Biloxi Police Officers responded to the 2400 block of South Shore Drive (Biloxi) to assist Gulfport Police Officers with attempting to locate 36-year-old James Terry Mitchell III, who had an active Fugitive from Justice arrest warrant.
Once on scene, contact was made with 33-year-old Malinda Jean Centifanto, as well as two small children.
While speaking to Centifanto, officers could smell the odor of marijuana emitting from the residence, and removed Centifanto and the two small children from the home. While securing the home in order to obtain and execute a search warrant, multiple marijuana plants were seen in plain view, along with other items believed to have been used for cultivating.
After obtaining a search warrant and executing it, Mitchell was found hiding inside the home in a closet. He was arrested without incident.
Mitchell was charged with Manufacture of a controlled substance and his bond was set at $50,000 by Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain. Gulfport Officers were also able to serve their Fugitive from Justice arrest warrant. A hold was also placed on him by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
Centifanto was charged with Manufacture of a controlled substance, two counts of Child Endangerment, and Hindering Prosecution.
Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain set her bond at $50,000 per charge, for a total bond of $200,000. Both Michell and Centifanto were transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
