Mississippi has cheapest gas in the nation

Gas

Some fantastic news in the Magnolia State! The state has the cheapest gas in the nation with prices being lower on the Coast.

Gas prices in the state are 50 cents less than the national average. According to Gas Buddy, prices on the Coast ranged from $2.54 to $2.94.

In Harrison County, gas is cheaper by 10 cents while Jackson County is cheaper by a single cent.

Hancock, Pearl River, and George counties average price sit just a little above the state average, but only by about six cents.

One reason the state is seeing low prices is believed to be due to the number of refineries with fuel prices going up the longer distance for transportation.
