Sea-N-Sail Camp kicks off at Maritime and Seafood Museum

The Sea N Sail Summer Camp kicked off at the Maritime and Seafood Museum earlier today.

The camp is in its 30th year, teaching the history and heritage of the Mississippi Gulf Coast’s Maritime Legacy.

All activities start at the museum, but field trips will take participants to places such as the aquarium and IMMS.

Kids in the nine through 12-year-old age group will travel to Horn Island on a Biloxi schooner while the six through eight-year-old group travels to Deer Island.

Museum Outreach and Education Coordinator Elizabeth Alexander tells News 25 other activities that can be expected as well. “We have plenty of activities here as well. We have arts and crafts, we build a model boat, and interactive games where they’ll be able to make lots of friends. Registration is still open. We are doing this for six more weeks after this first week. We’re going to finish up the month of June, take a break for the 4th of July week, and then jump back in to full swing. So, registration is still open, get your kids signed up, it is never too late.”

The camp runs from this week until the week of July 22nd. For more information or to register your children, click here.
