Scam alert from Jackson County Sheriff’s Department

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department wants to alert the public to a scam going around.

Jackson County residents are receiving calls to send bail money, donations for a charity, and medical bills for a family member.

Be aware of these calls, Jackson County sheriffs will never request money over the phone.

Scammers may manipulate caller ID so it appears the call is legit, also using the real name of deputies.
