Memorial Day Kickoff Market in the Pass
Many turned out for the Memorial Day Market in the Pass over at War Memorial Park.
Close to 60 vendors were present. Among those vendors were artists, gardeners, bakers, and farmers.
Some of these vendors are also military veterans and they took the time to talk about the true meaning of Memorial Day.
20-year Army Veteran Roy Lee said, “So, I cut each of these layers out with a laser. Laser does the work once you figure out the settings. Then paint the individual layers and then glue them all back together and then you get a design like this.”
Retired Air Force Veteran John Youngman said, “I lost some friends, you know, Shield, Storm. Pick one and I’ve lost a friend in it and it’s important to come out here and support the vets.”
The farmer’s market is held every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at War Memorial Park.
