Biloxi Natatorium hosting swim lessons and swim team registration
If you’re looking to learn how to swim this summer, the Biloxi Natatorium and the Aquatics Division is hosting its annual summer swim lessons.
If you are a more experienced swimmer, the Natatorium is also hosting its summer swim team, Biloxi Red Tide.
Swimming if often associated with summertime and the staff at the Biloxi Aquatics Division wants to make sure people have the skills they need to enjoy the water.
“We’re surrounded by bodies of water. We all enjoy those activities out on the water during the summer months,” said Jamie Lee, the Assistant Director of the Biloxi Parks and Recreation Department. “and even during the winter months; fishing, boating, and different things like that. It is extremely important to get exposed to learning how to swim at an early age.”
Swim lessons are in the morning at the Biloxi Natatorium from 9:30 AM to 12:45 PM. Those lessons run from 5 to 7:45 in the evening.
During these times, there are various sessions for all ages.
There is a limit, make sure to check with Aquatics Division for availability.
Lessons are $30 for Biloxi residents and $50 for non-Biloxi residents.
Those interested in participating on the Biloxi Red Tide summer swim team must register. Registration takes place weekdays from 3:30 to 5 PM.
Registration is open through May 31st. Fees range from $30 for one child of a Biloxi resident to $150 for three or more who are not Biloxi residents.
The summer team include swim meets, a championship meet and a banquet.
