Celebrating National Nurses Day

South Mississippi’s front line healthcare workers received some extra attention today for National Nurses Day.

This day of recognition is a part of National Nurses Week.

Earlier today, Memorial Health handed out goody bags filled with treats to on-duty nurses as a token of appreciation for all the hard work they do day in and day out.

The health system employs more than 1,500 nurses and health system leaders say it is important their hard work is often highlighted.

Today, actually marks the start of a week full of recognition for nurses across America. National Nurses Week wrap up on Sunday.
