Marina cut from project in Ocean Springs

A marina was recently cut from a planned development project in Ocean Springs.

The marina was cut after Ocean Springs residents made it clear they did not want to see it built on Front Beach and that it would commercialize the family-oriented area.

The Ocean Springs Board of Aldermen voted unanimously on Tuesday to remove the marina from the project, but elected to keep the planned event space and parking lot as part of the project.

As of now, other potential locations for the marina are currently being considered.
