Gulfport high school announces Brian Butler as the new boys basketball head coach

On Tuesday, a new era began for the Gulfport Admirals high school boys basketball program as Brain Butler was introduced as the schools newest head coach.

Butler is from the coast and played high school basketball at St. Stanislaus.

He also becomes the first African American head coach in the history of Admirals basketball.

During his press conference he spoke about what this opportunity means to him by saying, “I really cant believe this is happening right now. I’m very grateful for the opportunity. With a tradition like this it can really elevate the entire community. That is my goal here, to unite this community through basketball, and elevate it again back to where it was at one point before.”
