Mississippi Coast Buddy Sports Easter Egg Hunt
In South Mississippi over the Easter weekend, Live Oak Baptist Church in Long Beach hosted an egg hunt for special needs individuals in partnership with Mississippi Coast Buddy Sports.
The egg hunt is named after Courtney Smith, who recently passed away at the age of 23. Smith was a regular Buddy Sports athlete who touched many lives in the club.
Live Oak Pastor Steven Simon says the event was a wonderful way to honor Courtney’s legacy and give special needs children and adults a safe place to enjoy the Easter festivities. “So, to provide that, this Easter egg hunt for them, which, you know if you’ve ever experienced any other Easter egg hunts, sometimes they get left out in the dust, you know. And so just to be able to provide that event for them, it’s been really great for us.”
Mike Taylor with MS Gulf Coast Buddy Sports said, “To get them involved in outdoor activities to where their parents can bring them and not have to worry about them and they can get some activities and do stuff that they don’t have an opportunity to do.”
