Lucedale native and George County high school alum Justin Steele injured in Opening Day start

Former George County Rebel and Lucedale native Justin Steele got things going on the bump to start the Chicago Cubs season.

Steele took the mound against the defending World Series champion in the season opener for the Cubs. In just under five innings of work the Lucedale native had six strikeouts on just three hits given up, including one earned run.

Things took a turn for the worst in the fifth inning when Steele fielded a ground ball and had to leave the game with an apparent leg injury. Hopefully it is nothing serious for the all-star pitcher and a quick recovery is in his future.
