NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award: USM’s Nick Sandlin named to midseason watch list

Up in Hattiesburg today, some high praise for Southern Miss closer Nick Sandlin. He was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year midseason watch list.
Of the 40 players to make the cut, Sandlin has some of the more dominating stats with 54 strikeouts across 33 and two-third innings. In addition, the sophomore has a record of 5-1 to go along with four saves, as well as a microscopic batting average against him of .148.
Sandlin is already seventh on USM’s all-time charts for saves with 16. He is coming off a freshman All American season in 2016.
