Public hearing today over lot usage for a Black Spring Break event
The Biloxi City Council will hear an appeal from Black Spring Break organizers after the Biloxi Special Events Committee rejected their request to use a lot in the city for upcoming events.
The committee denied the group’s request to use the Shular lot, citing parking and security concerns.
The appeal will be heard this afternoon in a public hearing format during the Biloxi City Council meeting at 1:30.
Public safety during spring break events has been a top concern of Biloxi city leaders ever since several people were injured in a spring break shooting last April.
News 25 will have more information from the hearing as it becomes available.
