CW4 Derek Abbott laid to rest on Sunday

Fulton native and Chief Warrant Officer 4 Derek Abbott was laid to rest on Sunday.

CW4 Abbott was in D Company of the 2nd Battalion, 151st Lakota Medical Evacuation Unit based in Tupelo.

His military service was recognized with medals and honors.

A graveside service followed at Itawamba Memorial Gardens for the flag presentation and TAPs.

Derek Abbott is survived by his wife and their three children.
