Last chance to hear from all municipal candidates in Ocean Springs
Ocean Springs residents, tomorrow night is the last chance to hear from all of the candidates at one time before the May 2nd primary elections.
The Mississippi Gulf Coast League of Women Voters is hosting a non-partisan political forum for all the city’s municipal candidates. The forum will be held at the Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Arts Center on Government Street.
Each candidate running for mayor or alderman will have three minutes to introduce themselves, talk about their experience, and discuss their goals for Ocean Springs. Ocean Springs Mayor Connie Moran said, “We have three of our seven aldermen who are retiring, not running for office again and so we have 16 candidates and 11 or 12 of them have never run for office before. It’s a great opportunity to meet the candidates, learn a little bit about their backgrounds and what they’re about. They all have very high qualifications so I hope the public will turn out and be involved in the process.”
The forum will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow.
