K9 injured in DeSoto County shooting has died

According to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, K9 Luca died as a result of the shot he received in the officer-involved shooting in DeSoto County.

Earlier on February 21, deputies were involved in a car chase.

They performed a PIT maneuver on the suspect’s car, releasing K9 Luca to catch the suspect.

The suspect shot K9 Luca, deputies returned fire and the suspect died from their injuries.
