St. Patrick Lady Irish soccer advances to second straight Class 1 state championship match
On Tuesday, the St. Patrick Fighting Irish girls soccer team defeated Our Lady Academy 4-0 in the South state championship semifinals matchup and punched their ticket to the Class 1 soccer state championship.
The game was nothing short of spectacular from the lady Irish. Four goals were scored, including a hat trick from former WXXV Student-Athlete of the Week Bella Jordan. Katherine Adams also found the back of the net in the contest.
After the game Jordan spoke on what it was likes coring three goals in what was the most important game of the year before heading to state by saying, “It felt 10 times better than doing it in a casual game…this game was probably the toughest game of the year – and most important game of the year – so it just makes all of us feel a lot better.”
The lady Irish will now face Tupelo Christian in the Class 1 state championship on Friday at Madison Central at 5:00 P.M.
