Ocean Springs’ Fort Maurepas park receiving new playground equipment

The City of Ocean Springs’ Fort Maurepas Park is preparing to receive new playground equipment!

The City of Discovery received a Healthy Heroes Program Grant, a program designed to increase health literacy among students in grades K-5.

The city’s Department of Public Works will begin to demolish the existing equipment on Monday, February 26.

Demolition should last 2 weeks and Front Beach Drive from Jackson Avenue to Washington Avenue will become a one-way eastbound lane between 7 AM and 4 PM for the equipment to be hauled away.

The playground is expected to reopen in April of this year.
