Moss Point woman charged with DUI in traffic fatality

A Moss Point woman has been charged after a woman died in a traffic incident in Biloxi on Sunday.
21-year-old Evelynn Imani Patton was charged with aggravated DUI causing death after she turned herself in to police. She was taken to Harrison County jail and bond was set at $500,000
Biloxi Police, Fire Department and AMR were sent to a wreck at Popps Ferry Road and T0mmy Munro Drive early Sunday morning to respond to a two-vehicle wreck.
When officers arrived about 1:36 a.m., they found a driver and occupant of one vehicle injured and they were taken to an area hospital.
The driver of the second vehicle, identified as 21-year-old Evelynn Imani Patton, also was injured and had to be extracted. Her passenger also was trapped in the car and had to be extracted. She died at the scene from her injuries.
Biloxi investigators obtained a court order for Patton’s blood and it was sent to the Crime Lab for testing, which showed her blood alcohol content was over the legal limit.
