Flu Season

With flu season underway, it is a good time to be prepared and get a flu shot. Polk’s Drugs in Biloxi is currently giving free flu shots until supplies run out.
On Friday, Mississippi had its first flu-related death of the year. Polk’s pharmacists say to be prepared against the virus and not wait until it is too late. Polk’s Drugs pharmacy manager Joe Flynt said, “Once you get the shot your immune system gives you immunity to the virus. If you do come in contact with the virus, you won’t get sick.”
Flynt said it has been a slow start to the year for the flu.
