Cause of death revealed in suspect accused of killing George County deputy
Mississippi Bureau of Investigations has released the results of an autopsy on the suspect accused of shooting and killing George County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeremy Malone.
Authorities confirm that the autopsy revealed that Rickey Powell’s cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
On Thursday, January 4th, Deputy Malone was shot and killed in the line of duty on Highway 98 near the intersection of Brushy Creek Road when he stopped Powell for a traffic violation.
