Former Saints player Ronald Powell has passed away at 32-years-old

Former Saints linebacker Ronald Dowell has died at the age of 32.

The New Orleans Saints selected Powell out of Florida in the 5th round in the 2014 draft. He played in 14 games as a rookie for the Saints, but was placed on injured reserve at the beginning of the 2015 season and later waved.

Out of high school Powell was the No. 1 overall ranked recruit by Rivals.com.

He finished his professional career with the Orlando Apollos in the Alliance of American Football before the league ceased operations in 2019.

His cause of death has yet to be released.
