Inaugural trip to Las Vegas takes flight at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport
A new flight offering for locals took off this morning at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport.
The airport and local leaders celebrated the inaugural Breeze Airways flight from Gulfport to Las Vegas by spraying the plane with champagne before take-off.
Breeze is now offering non-stop twice weekly service from Gulfport to both Las Vegas and Tampa, Florida.
Airport leaders say they’re excited to offer more destinations for South Mississippi fliers and that this continues the pattern of growth in terms of service at the airport. Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport Executive Director Clay Williams said, “The competition for air service is incredibly keen. You have a limited number of domestic carriers, so anytime we’re able to add a new one, we’re very privileged, we’re very excited to grow that opportunity here in the marketplace, and so we look forward to not only trying to expand partnerships with Breeze as we go forward, but also our other carriers that operate at the airport.”
Currently, airlines offering service here on the Coast include Breeze, Allegiant, Sun Country, as well as American, United, and Delta.
