Pedestrian struck and killed by train in Biloxi is identified

An Arizona man was killed in a morning accident in Biloxi on Tuesday.
Around 8:30 a.m., an Amtrak train struck a pedestrian walking the tracks near CT Switzer Sr. and Eisenhower drives.
Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer said 29-year-old James Ferrara, originally from Arizona, was walking westbound on the tracks when the train came up behind him.
Switzer said Ferrara was wearing earbuds and didn’t hear the train or a motorist who tried to flag him down to warn him of the train.
The engineer blew his horn and hit his emergency brake, but could not stop in time to avoid hitting Ferrara.
The train, with two engines and two cars, had no passengers at the time of the accident.
