Courthouses all clear after multiple threats made in Harrison County
Harrison County Sheriff Matt Haley has confirmed that three courthouses in Harrison County have received the all clear after being evacuated due to receiving threats.
Courthouses affected were the Harrison County Courthouse in Gulfport and Biloxi and the Harrison County Youth Court.
According to Harrison County Sheriff Matt Haley, the threats are happening across the state.
Sheriff Haley told WXXV the Biloxi Police bomb dog and the Keesler Air Force Base bomb dog were called to the scene.
According to media reports, the Mississippi State Supreme Court also reported a threat.
This comes a day after multiple threats were sent to capitols across the country.
The Mississippi Department of Public Safety issued a statement, saying: “The Mississippi Department of Public Safety has received notification of multiple bomb threats at various locations across the state. Precautionary measures are being taken at all locations and standard emergency procedures are being followed. We are currently working with federal partners. Bomb teams and assets have been deployed. If anyone has any information regarding these threats, please reach out to your local Crime Stoppers, police or sheriff’s department, or the FBI.”
According to other media outlets, courthouses in Maine, Arkansas, Montana, and Kentucky have also been evacuated after receiving threats.
