Mississippi investing nearly $17 million to develop industrial sites

Governor Tate Reeves announced earlier that Mississippi is investing nearly $17 million to develop industrial sites throughout the state.

These investments will help prepare sites for companies to build or expand their operations to the Magnolia state.

Governor Reeves says this will be vital to create new and higher-paying jobs for local communities.

Areas on the coast that will receive money include Pearl River County, Harrison County, and Hancock County.

In Pearl River County, over $1 million will be given to extend the turn lane into the Pearl River County Industrial Park.

In Harrison County, the Mississippi Gulf Coast Aerospace Center at the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport will receive $50,000 to complete the master plan for a 240-acre site.

At Port Bienville Site #1 in Hancock County, over $400,000 will be given for a wastewater capacity study and pre-engineering to increase wastewater capacity.
