Boys & Girls Club receives new technology lab
A local Boys and Girl Club is fulfilling its mission in helping the youth in the community.
With new editions coming to the afterschool program, young students will be setup for success for years to come.
The Boys and Girls Club of the Gulf Coast held a ribbon cutting today at the Forest Heights Center, unveiling the newly renovated afterschool advantage technology lab.
The newest technology includes new iPads, VR headsets, and programming, and coding kits.
Thanks to their partnerships with International Gaming Technologies and the Mississippi Lottery, the upgrades were able to be completed to better prepare the youth for success in the workforce.
“We’re keeping up with 21st century jobs and with technology evolving as quickly as it is through donations and partnerships,” said Wayne Buchanan, the senior director of resource development. “Like with IGT, that help us at the forefront of the technology.”
The Boys and Girls Club of Hancock County also received technology upgrades to their computer lab as well.
