Ocean Springs residents promote “Festive for CASA” with Christmas lights
One Christmas fanatic is using Christmas decorations to bring attention to a local organization and he’s looking for other houses to join in.
Court-appointed special advocates for children is a group of volunteers that advocate for abused or neglected children involved in court proceedings.
The family created a sign to place amongst their decorations, educating others about CASA with a link to donate.
The Miestchovich family has adopted casa kids and seen firsthand the work CASA does for local children, especially during the holidays.
CASA children may be experiencing a Christmas outside of their homes and helping raise donations can bring some Christmas joy.
“The whole holiday season, people’s hearts open up and they want to get involved with things,” Chuck Miestchovich said. “We use this extra attention to get the name out there and get CASA in front of people’s eyes.”
If you would like to get a sign for your front yard, you can email chuckmiestchovich@gmail.com.
You can see their lights on Lakeview Drive in Ocean Springs.
