William Carey breaking ground on new Institute of Primary Care

William Carey University will hold a ground-breaking ceremony on Tuesday, December 5 at 11 AM.

The new College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Institute of Primary Care will break ground on a $20 million infrastructure grant introduced back in May.

The grant was given through Accelerate-Mississippi in order to begin a new Institute of Primary Care.

The new structure will have a point-of-care ultrasound skills lab, a skills simulation center, and will feature a state-of-the-art osteopathic manipulative lab.

This new project will be for extensive training and to efficiently increase the number of primary care physicians in underserved areas throughout Mississippi.
