Southern Miss faculty member & graduate student honored

A Southern Miss graduate student and a faculty member were recognized by the Entomological Society of America.
Both Dr. Shahid Karim and Abdulsalem Adegoke were recognized for their research on tick-borne diseases and understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying a tick’s immune response to tick-borne pathogens.
Dr. Karim was honored with a Physiology, Biochemistry, and Toxicology Section Award.
Adegoke is a native of Nigeria and was honored with the Graduate PBT: Physiology President’s Prize and Graduate Student Travel Award.
